About the event

MRMI (Medical Response to Major Incidents) is an advanced, simulation-based training course where healthcare, rescue services, police, and command functions train side by side in realistic major incident scenarios. Using the internationally validated MACSIM system, participants practice triage, patient management, coordination, and decision-making under pressure across the full continuum of care.

About the MRMI course

MRMI is a standardized and evidence-based training program designed to strengthen healthcare systems’ and society’s preparedness for major incidents, disasters, and mass-casualty events. The course focuses on advanced triage, leadership, and inter-organizational coordination in high-pressure situations, using realistic scenarios based on terrorist attacks and natural disasters.

Training is conducted across the entire response chain simultaneously, from on-scene management and transport to hospital care, coordination, and command, ensuring a shared operational understanding between all involved actors.
