Ocular oncology

Care for eye cancers is provided at St Erik Eye Hospital, in close collaboration with Karolinska University Hospital for selected clinical pathways. Our multidisciplinary teams include ophthalmologists specialized in ocular oncology, pathologists specialized in ophthalmic patholoy, pediatric oncologists, medical oncologists and clinical geneticists. Furthermore, we have a team of specialized nurses for wholistic care of the patient. , We provide highly specialized evaluation and treatment, combining world-class ophthalmic expertise with advanced diagnostic and therapeutic capabilities.

What we treat

We focus on both adult and pediatric eye cancer. We treat all types of cancer and also benign tumors in the eye. In children, we mainly treat retinoblastoma, a rare tumor of the retina, while in adults we mainly provide care for uveal melanoma, the most common primary eye cancer in adults. Each patient receives an individualized treatment plan designed to preserve vision whenever possible while ensuring optimal clinical outcomes.
