About the event

Karolinska University Hospital together with the European University Hospital Alliance (EUHA) is excited to announce a symposium titled ‘Rethinking Healthcare Systems’, scheduled for Thursday, June 13th, at Karolinska University Hospital. Rethinking Healthcare Systems

Rethinking Healthcare Systems is one of EUHA's primary initiatives, and will be discussed on June 13 with experts from various healthcare-related fields.

The discussions will revolve around critical challenges in Europe, including workforce shortages, an ageing population, and the high costs of advanced treatments, and how these challenges necessitate an EU-wide collaborative approach.

Moderator: Olof Akre, Professor of Oncological Surgery and Head of Department of Clinical Cancer Studies at Karolinska University Hospital.

Keynote speakers

This gathering will feature a warm welcome from Patrik Rossi, President of EUHA and acting CEO of Karolinska University Hospital. The event will kick off with an introductory speech by Aida Hadžialić, the Metropolitan Mayor of Stockholm.

  • Keynote speaker Yeoh Khay Guan, Chief Executive of the National University Health System in Singapore, will delve into the transformation of healthcare systems.
  • Keynote speaker Michael J Maniaci, Enterprise Medical Director of Virtual Care at the Mayo Clinic Center of Digital Health, Mayo Clinic.

Additionally, we anticipate a distinguished speaker from the European Commission to join our lineup.
