About the event
The course is designed for all physicians and nurses involved in trauma care within the hospital setting, regardless of specialty. The objective is to strengthen participants’ ability to recognise severe injury early, prioritise correctly and make sound decisions from emergency department arrival through operative care, intensive care and post-resuscitation management.
The programme combines focused lectures delivered by an experienced international faculty with case-based panel discussions, addressing real-world medical and surgical challenges. Differences between adult and paediatric trauma care are highlighted throughout, with practical implications for assessment, resuscitation, operative strategy and system coordination

The course is intended for physicians and nurses involved in the in-hospital trauma chain, including professionals working in:

Prior experience in trauma or acute care is recommended.

📅 Course format
- Two full days (23–24 April 2026)
- Structured 30-minute lectures
- Daily 45-minute moderated, case-based panel discussions
- Strong focus on multidisciplinary collaboration and practical clinical decision-making
- The course will be conducted entirely in English
Course fee
- Physicians and registered nurses: 10,000 SEK (≈ 900 EUR)
- Residents (ST doctors) and nurses in specialist training: 5,000 SEK (≈ 450 EUR)
- ESTES members receive a 10% discount on the course fee (proof of membership required)
- Participants from low-income countries: no course fee
Travel and accommodation are to be covered by the participant.
The course fee includes:
- Participation in the full two-day programme
- Lunch on both course days
- Dinner on day 1
