Neuropathic Pain

We offer a wide range of treatments for neuropathic pain and have an extensive experience with excellent results.

Neuropathic pain is an umbrella term for different nerve pain diagnoses related to nerve damage. The pain is always present but with varying intensity and is described as burning and electrical. Even a light touch can be painful. Patients suffering from neuropathic pain  often lead very limited lives due to tiredness and the effects of heavy medications.

We offer a wide range of treatments and have extensive experience with excellent results. The procedures we perform for neuropathic pain are:

  • Spinal cord stimulation (SCS)

A device implanted to send electrical signals to the spinal cord. We have performed SCS since the 1980s and conducted extensive research within the area.

  • Dorsal root ganglion stimulation (DRG)

A device surgically implanted in the body to stimulate the dorsal root ganglion through electrical pulses.

  • DREZ-operation for pain (after plexus brachialis avulsion)

A surgery disrupting the damaged areas of pain-signaling nerve cells.

  • Cordotomy

A surgical procedure aiming to deactivate the nerve causing the pain signals for severe cases of treatment-refractory cancer pain.

  • Occipital nerve stimulation (ONS)

Treatment involving stimulating the occipital nerves for conditions such as cluster headache and occipital neuralgia.

  • Motor cortex stimulation

A neuromodulation surgery where electrodes are implanted to regulate pain signals.
